The preschool of the Jewish Federation of Madison, providing quality Jewish education for our community’s children since 1970.
A Jewish education for your child. A Jewish community for your family.
Providing a quality Jewish education for your child
At Gan HaYeled our goal is to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, creative, and physical needs of your child in a safe and caring environment. We help your child develop a positive Jewish identity and a sense of belonging to a larger Jewish Community.
Gan HaYeled is a state licensed preschool/daycare sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Madison. Gan is a member of Community Coordinated Child Care, Wisconsin Child Care Administrator’s Association, and the Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education.
Gan HaYeled welcomes children of all religions, ethnicities, physical abilities, and beliefs.
Learning through play in a Jewish environment
Through play, Gan children learn about themselves, their environment, and their relationships with others. Children spend time in teacher-directed large and small group activities.
The theme based curriculum offers children experiences in art, music, movement, science, social studies, language, and math. Your child can choose from many activities based on his or her interests and abilities.
We integrate a Jewish curriculum into daily activities through songs, stories, cooking, vocabulary, and the tradition of mitzvot. Children celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions with the opportunity to blow a shofar, build and decorate a sukkah, light a menorah, and make a seder plate. Shabbat is a special day at Gan. We celebrate with songs, tzedakah, and blessings over candles, “wine,” and challah.
A safe and fun environment
With a low teacher-to-student ratio, Gan HaYeled offers your child a high-quality educational experience in a caring, nurturing environment. Our classrooms are filled with developmentally age appropriate toys and materials, which we continually change to fuel your child’s imagination.
Our outdoor playground allows children to develop their motor skills throughout the year. They garden in the spring, run through sprinklers in the summer, ride tricycles in the fall, and sled in the winter.
Our professional staff -- A wealth of experience
Gan HaYeled’s greatest asset is its highly qualified staff. Our talented teachers have a commitment to providing the best care and education to our students. Our teachers are trained to observe your child, listen to his or her specific needs, and seek out individual interests. Retention of staff is extremely important at Gan and we’re proud that our teachers choose to return year after year.
Make the connection
Gan HaYeled provides many opportunities to meet other parents with young children. We offer family Shabbat dinners, informal gatherings, and information about Jewish community events.
