On May 16, estate and tax planning professionals Janice Bensky, Gary Friedman, and Oscar Seibel offered community members valuable information about the easy and tax-favored ways to make a charitable gift.
Thirty-five community members attended the complimentary lunch briefing at the Nakoma Country Club. The participants learned about the options for making both small and large gifts, either during their lifetime or through their wills or trusts.
The experts offered information about the simple ways to leave a charitable gift through wills or trusts, easy ways to donate retirement plan or IRA assets, and how to supplement a retirement income while making a charitable gift. They also discussed creating a legacy with an endowment fund and the different types of charitable trusts and when to consider them.
The educational lunch was hosted by Hal and Sue Blotner, Marc and Shelia Cohen, Mildred and Marv Conney, Harvey and Rona Malofsky, Mitch and Sharon Rapkin, Diane Seder and Bruce Rosen, Harry and Karen Roth, Joan Rothberg, Judy Schreiber, Joe and Jeanne Silverberg, Vicki and Jerry Stewart, Marjorie and Harry Tobias, Fran Weinstein, and Jim and Nan Youngerman.
MJCC is planning additional charitable educational lunches later in the year. Please watch the Madison Jewish News and your email for more information. To add your name to the MJCC community email list, click here.
