Camp Young Judea Midwest, founded in 1969, is a co-ed Jewish community located in Waupaca, Wisconsin, approximately 1.5 hours from Madison. CYJ Midwest is a full facility camp, which provides a full range of activities, while instilling in our campers pride in theri Judaism and a love
Campers participate in a variety of programs, including: waterskiing, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, sports, high and low ropes course, video creating, photography, ga-ga, music, drama, camping, cooking, scouting and so much more!
Our younger campers (3rd-7th grades) create their own schedule from a list of over 25 activities. Throughout the session, campers can change and try out other activities from the list!
Our older campers (8th-9th grades) choose a focused track: Outdoor Adventure, Media Arts & Drama or Watersports & Sports. They spend their mornings with the track and at the end of the three weeks, they culminate with an amazing out of camp trip.
Our 80+ acre campsite includes a spring-fed lake and beach waterfront, spacious dining hall and kosher kitchen, a modern air-conditioned recreation hall, a 40 foot climing tower with multiple climing elements, baseball, tennis and volleyball courts and an arts and crafts area. We tailor our attention to each camper’s individual needs, while teaching them the lessons of living as part of a community. Campers return from camp self-confident, strong in their Jewish Identity and with more knowledge about Israel. They won’t stop talking about what a great time they had!
We maintain a high staff to camper ratio and are able to provide each camper with a safe, caring, fun educational and Jewish experience. 90% of our staff are CYJ Midwest alumni, including the director! All meals are kosher and Shabbat is observed.
Scholarships are available for all programs and new campers receive may $1000 off their tuition through the One Happy Camper Grant ! For more information, please visit our website or contact us at (847) 675.6790 or via email.
