At Gan HaYeled our goal is to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, creative, and physical needs of your child in a safe and caring environment. We help your child develop a positive Jewish identity and a sense of belonging to a larger Jewish Community.
Gan HaYeled is a state licensed preschool/daycare sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Madison. Gan is a member of Community Coordinated Child Care, Wisconsin Child Care Administrator’s Association, and the Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education.
Gan HaYeled welcomes children of all religions, ethnicities, physical abilities, and beliefs.
With a low teacher-to-student ratio, Gan HaYeled offers your child a high-quality educational experience in a caring, nurturing environment. Our classrooms are filled with developmentally age appropriate toys and materials, which we continually change to inspire your child’s imagination.
Our outdoor playground and equipment allow children to develop their motor skills throughout the year. They garden in the spring, run through sprinklers in the summer, ride tricycles in the fall, and sled in the winter.
Through play, Gan children learn about themselves, their environment, and their relationships with others. Children spend time in teacher-directed large and small group activities.
The theme based curriculum offers children experiences in art, music, movement, science, social studies, language arts, and math. Your child may choose from many activities based on his or her interests and abilities.
We integrate a Jewish curriculum into daily activities through songs, stories, cooking, vocabulary, and the tradition of mitzvot. Children celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions with the opportunity to blow a shofar, build and decorate a sukkah, light a menorah, bake hamantaschen, hear the Megillah, and make a seder plate. Shabbat is a special day at Gan. We celebrate together with songs, sharing tzedakah, and blessings over candles, “wine,” and challah.
Gan HaYeled’s greatest asset is its highly qualified staff. Our talented teachers have a commitment to providing the best care and education to our students. Our teachers are trained to observe your child, listen to his or her specific needs, and seek out individual interests. Retention of staff is extremely important at Gan and we’re proud that our teachers choose to return year after year.
Gan HaYeled provides many opportunities to build lifelong friendships by meeting other parents with young children. We offer family gathering dinners to share a meal, and always information about all Jewish community events.
"Gan HaYeled is a special place, which exudes love, compassion, and warmth. Each morning I tell Naomi "Gentle hands & kind words." I coined that phrase based on the loving atmosphere and practices at Gan. Thank you for all of the smiles, hugs and special art projects! Naomi looks forward to preschool every morning and comes home happily energetic each day at noon."
"I have had all 3 of my children attend Gan, starting when they were 2 years old. It has been such a positive experience. I can't say enough about the teachers. They are so wonderful. The children have fun learning and get a religious aspect as well. My oldest was more than prepared for kindergarten and I am confident that a big part of that was due to Gan."
