The Shaarei Shamayim community will take a field trip to the Beit Olamim Cemetery at Sunset Memory Gardens to plant 50 white pine trees in (belated) celebration of Tu B'Shevat. These trees will help to beautify the cemetery as well as to reforest the area, making it more pleasant in the summer with added shade and reducing the wind in the winter. Beit Olamim, Madison’s new Jewish cemetery, was dedicated in December, 2009. It is located along the far northeast corner of Sunset Memory Gardens, 7302 Mineral Point Road, bounded by Westfield Road and Tree Lane. If you are interested in participating in the tree planting, please contact the office (257-2944 or office@shamayim.org). Bring a bag lunch.
