A free light-making workshop on May 16 and May 21, 2019 (both sessions required)

This 2-session workshop honors Holocaust Survivors and their descendants as well as the 6 Million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. Participants make beautiful illuminated paper lamps that serve as luminous reminders of the intention to put light into the world, while sharing stories and wisdom.

We dedicate this workshop to Thea Aschkenase, a remarkable survivor of Auschwitz and author of the book, Remembering, who passed away recently at the age of 95.

Participants Include: Dr. Mark Olsky, one of the three youngest Survivors in the world and featured in the book, Born Survivors; and Dr. Judith Heilizer, a member of the Rotterdam Resistance. Other honored participants include Thea’s daughter, Dr. Lea Aschkenase, and Henry Sapoznik, a descendant of Survivors and award-winning author, producer and performer of Yiddish and American music.

We welcome all faith traditions and ages above 16. 6 Million Lights is a project of OrLanu, a 501(c)(3) founded in 2018. The world needs your light.

Registration required as space is limited: david@dhmoss.com or (414)418-6080.
