Come one, come all to the Greatest Purim Carnival in Madison - presented by Beth Israel Center, Congregation Shaarei Shamayim, Jewish Federation of Madison, and Temple Beth El! Step right up and be thrilled by the most amazing, the most exhilarating, the most incredible show on Earth as our clergy and educators perform the death-defying story of Esther. Clown around with us in your favorite costume. Play games and win prizes.

One day only, Sunday, March 24, 2024

  • 10:45 am - Doors open
  • 11:00 am Big Top entertainment begins
  • 11:05 am - Purim Spiel with Jewish community clergy and staff, costume parade, hula hoop contest, and more!
  • 11:20 am - 2:00 pm - Carnival festivities open (after the spiel) with carnival games, activities, crafts, prizes, food sales, and more!
  • 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm - Performance by David Landau - "The King of Kid's Music"
  • 2:00 pm - Doors close

Admission (​includes entertainment and games)

  • Ages 2 - 12: $9 per child ($25 maximum for 3 or more children) for advance online registration through Thursday, March 21; $10 per child ($30 maximum for 3 or more children) starting Friday, March 22, or at the door.
  • Adults or children under 2 years: No charge.

Food for Sale
Just Veggiez lunch items (see Community Purim Carnival menu), hamantaschen from Adamah (pre-order recommended - see below), and other drinks and snacks. (Please, no food or drink in the sanctuary, aka Big Top Entertainment stage).

Activities
Bounce house, crafts, basketball for littles and bigs, face painting, duck pond, bozo buckets, mini golf, bowling, Haman bean bag toss, giant Jenga, ring toss, trivia, ball pit for littles, lollipop pull, and so much more!

Volunteers Wanted
Calling all teens and adults...Volunteer to help make the fun happen! Available opportunities include set-up, clean-up, admission/check-in, running activities and games, giving out prizes, selling snacks, and taking photos.

Order Hamantaschen
Hamantaschen by Adamah at UW Hillel are for sale by the dozen in advance and individually at the carnival. All hamantaschen are parve and certified kosher by Wisconsin K. Boxes are assorted raspberry, apricot, apple, and poppy - $15.95 per dozen. Pickup is available at multiple locations. The order deadline is Sunday, March 17, but please order early, as supplies could run out!
