From black and white photos to immigration documents and diplomas, each family has evidence of its roots. Often we don’t know how these papers fit into our families’ stories. Yet, if we preserve the documents and photos properly, and find related information about them—through genealogy, historical research, or anecdotes—we will help continue our heritage. Learning about and passing on these connections to beloved ancestors is a meaningful way to honor their memory. Spend an afternoon with fellow congregants to get suggestions about how to preserve and display these precious materials.
