The 25th Annual Greenfield Summer Institute: "Jews & Popular Culture"
July 14-17, 2025

A four-day summer institute in Madison for adults featuring Jewish studies scholars from around the country.
Also available on Zoom!

This year's theme is "Jews & Popular Culture."
Whether walking on the cobblestone streets of ancient Rome or the fake cobblestones of a modern Hollywood movie set, Jews have interacted with popular culture for thousands of years. At this year’s Greenfield Summer Institute, we will consider some of the many opportunities, problems, and questions inspired by these interactions. From music to marketing, making films to remaking Florida, join us as speakers from various fields gather in Madison to explore how different Jews and Jewish communities affected, and were affected by, popular culture.
