We are happy to invite you to register for 'The Intersections of Interfaith,' an interfaith conference sponsored by the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) and UW-Madison Center for Religion and Global Citizenry.

In a series of workshops, panels, and speakers, conference participants will learn the tools of interfaith leadership and explore the way identity shapes and complicates interfaith dialogue and activism. The theme of the conference, intersectionality, highlights the interconnectedness of our social identities. Because interfaith dialogue brings our identities into close contact with the identities of others, considering intersectionality (as pioneered by Kimberly Crenshaw), is crucial. Workshops will be led by the Interfaith Youth Core and students from the Center for Religion and Global Citizenry. Speakers will include faith and interfaith leaders from throughout the Midwest.

The conference will take place on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, from 1 pm on April 6 to 3 pm on April 7. A complete conference schedule will be given to participants during check-in, but a preliminary schedule can be found below and on our website. Participants may attend one day or both Saturday and Sunday.

We invite students to join us for Shabbat service followed by an interfaith dinner (partnering with UW Hillel) on Friday night, April 5. Additionally, we will be holding a Havdallah service on Saturday evening as a part of our conference schedule.

If you plan on attending, please register as soon as possible; this will help the planning committee monitor interest in the weeks leading up to the conference.

Participants traveling to the conference are encouraged to find their own lodging but may contact the conference planning board with for information about hotels and transportation in Madison. We are happy to help!

As we draw closer to the event, additional information may be provided via email. Please check your spam and junk email folders for emails from crgc@wisc.edu, in case our emails are directed there. Further information about the conference at the Center can also be found soon at https://religion.wisc.edu/.

Please email the Center for Religion and Global Citizenry at crgc@wisc.edu with any further questions. We look forward to seeing you on April 6 and 7 in Madison!
