Help Us Pick Fig Buttercup, an Invasive Species with the Lakeshore Nature Preserve

Living our Jewish values of protecting the environment, we’ll be picking fig buttercup, a relatively new invasive species to Wisconsin, at the Eagle Heights Apartments complex. If left unchecked the plants could move into the woodlands of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve which are adjacent. We need help digging the plants out of a lawn area so they don’t spread.

Please arrive no later than 9:30 am, because they will be expecting us at 9:45 am, and it’s a 15 minute walk.

Please bring some planting/digging trowels from home. If you have a few, please bring them for those who don’t have them.

Children and adults of all ages are welcome. For more information please contact Joy at office@shamayim.org.
