Please join us for the Joel Pedersen Memorial Lecture on tikkun olam and the environment.

We're excited to have Jonathan Patz speak on "Understanding Connections Between Solutions to Climate Change and How They Benefit Human Health." Jonathan Patz is the John P. Holton Chair of Health and the Environment at UW-Madison and leads the Climate Solutions for Health Lab. With a background in medicine, Jonathan has dedicated his career to investigating how climate change, human health, and ecosystem health interact.

The Climate Solutions Health Lab is a collaboration to translate science into solutions for climate change and human health. This group has documented the links between climate change and risks to human health, including air pollution, extreme weather events, and rising rates of certain diseases. They have also shown the direct health benefits from decarbonizing the economy and solving the climate crisis.

In this talk, he will share the work of the Climate Solutions for Health Lab, with a special focus on the intersection of climate change and human health.
