A joyful and inspiring evening of Midrash and literature, food and friends, featuring Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, former poet laureate of Kansas, who will be reading from her new novel, Miriam's Well.

Miriam's Well is a modern-day Exodus story about our purpose, place, and people. An astonishing cook and singer, Miriam has a knack for showing up to feed and help people at at landmark events. As she seeks the promised land, she shows her people how to turn the chaos and despair of our times into music, meals, and miracles. In addition to a reading from the novel, Caryn will talk about Midrash, finding new meaning in our most sacred stories, and how stories of the Exodus can help us cultivate more of the promised land in our lives.

Rabbi Forester will lead us in a short Havdalah service, and the evening will conclude with a reception featuring some of the luscious recipes from the novel.
