Professor Deborah Lipstadt: “In Every Generation They Wish to Destroy Us": Anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism as factors in Jewish Identity

The event is co-sponsored by Hillel Foundation at University of Wisconsin, The UW-Madison Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies, Beth Israel Center, and the UW-Madison Department of German and the UW-Madison Department of History. This event is free. Community members are welcome.

Dr. Lipstadt is a professor of Modern Jewish and Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta; she has also taught at UCLA and Occidental College in Los Angeles. Lipstadt has written four books, her most recent was published in 2011. David Irving sued Lipstadt for libel when she characterized some of his writings and public statements as Holocaust denial in her book Denying the Holocaust: The Growing Assault on Truth and Memory. This book was the first full-length study done of those who deny the Holocaust.
