Rabbi Ascherman will discuss the new government of Israel and its impact on Palestinian life, as well as its dismantling of the judiciary. He will also reflect more broadly on the challenge of power and democracy. Shaarei Shamayim has long supported the work of Rabbi Ascherman, an American-born Israeli rabbi who has dedicated his life to upholding the Jewish tradition of universal human rights and winning victories for Palestinians and unemployed Israelis alike. After leading Rabbis For Human Rights for 21 years, Rabbi Ascherman founded Torat Tzedek - Torah of Justice. Admission to this event is free of charge. However, we will ask attendees to make a donation to Torat Tzedek to support his work. This event is co-sponsored by Shaarei Shamayim and the First Unitarian Society. This event will be hybrid -- please contact the Shaarei Shamayim office for more information.
