Torah Scribe Calligraphy Demonstration (Chazen)

Chazen Welcomes Torah Scribe, Rabbi Kevin Hale, to Demonstrate Hebrew Calligraphy at Saint John’s Bible Exhibit

1:00-5:00 pm: Torah Scribe, Rabbi Kevin Hale will be joined by Arabic script calligrapher Elinor Aishah Holland to demonstrate their work.

6:00-8:00 pm: The Chazen especially welcomes the Jewish community to their evening event when Rabbi Hale, Elinor Aishah Holland, and local calligrapher Linda P. Hancock will all write in the Chazen lobby at the same time, in Hebrew, Arabic, and English, respectively. The public will have a chance to look at the exhibition and watch all three at work.

The Saint John’s Bible is the first handwritten Bible that interprets and illustrates scripture from a contemporary perspective, reflecting a multicultural world and humanity’s enormous strides in science, technology and space travel.
