Step 5: Forgiveness
When we are granted forgiveness, that can mean we have been excused for an offense: The one we have wronged has renounced anger and resentment toward us; we have been absolved from any further payment for our wrongdoing; and we are thereby freed from the consequences of our error.

Join Rabbi Jonathan Biatch for an educational session on the process of forgiveness. The Lekhivitzer Rabbi said: “True repentance brings joy. If repentance is genuine, the person is joyful though contrite and humble.” These positive emotions will come when we receive forgiveness for our transgressions, and they will multiply exponentially when we grant forgiveness to others. We can relieve ourselves of the weight of anger or annoyance when we let go of pent-up negative feelings.
