Children's services will be led by our community song leader, Aviv Kammay and Shaarei Shamayim parents. They will be held in Courtyard classroom A/B at the First Unitarian Society. Please enter through the Atrium doors. Please register for children's services so we know how many people to expect. We will also have discussions for 6th-8th graders and 9th-12th graders. Please register for these discussions.
Jeff Spitzer-Resnick will lead the Avodah gathering. This is an opportunity for everyone to bring offerings of music, poetry, and stories.
Rabbi Laurie will lead a community gathering to mark the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attack in Israel and the war in Gaza. This program will be an opportunity for reflection, grieving, and coming together as a community, even as we hold different perspectives. We will end by reciting the Mourner’s Kaddish for Israeli Jews and Palestinians.
Our Neilah service begins with twenty minutes of meditation and chanting. It ends with a final shofar blast and havdalah. If you are at home, you may wish to use your own havdalah set.
We conclude the day with a community-wide break fast potluck. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share.
