With great sadness, we write to inform you of the death of Deborah Hoffman, sister of Karen, Aileen, and Gary (Basha); aunt of Michal Hoffman, Aliza Tor, Shoshana Hoffman, Shifra Hoffman, Yael Hoffman, and Eitan Hoffman; and lifelong friend of Carolyn Sigall of California.

Deb recently received the Andrea J. Stein Jewish Community Professional Award from the Jewish Federation of Madison. She devoted 44 years to Madison’s Beth Israel Center, teaching and overseeing youth groups. Generations of synagogue youth learned countless skills and other life lessons from Deb.

Funeral services were held at Beth Israel Center on Sunday, January 11, and a burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Deb’s name can be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS), the Youth Fund at Beth Israel (option 09), or the charitable fund of your choice.
