With great sadness, we write to inform you of the death of Sandra M. Arfa, beloved wife of Allan David Arfa. Sandra passed away on May 5 at the age of 79.

Along with David, Sandra is survived by her children Jessica (Steven) Arfa Rudnick and Benjamin (Laura Rafson Arfa) Arfa, and her grandchildren Roland, Eric, and Silas. 

Sandra's funeral and shiva will be held in West Bloomfield, Michigan. 

The English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service honoring Sandy and her long-time service as director of the university's ESL program and its projects worldwide. The service will take place on Sunday, June 26 at 4:30 pm in the afternoon at the Vilas Park shelter. Besides UW faculty and staff, the public is cordially invited to attend. For those who cannot make the service in person, the proceedings will be transmitted on Zoom.
