The Jewish Federation of Madison is thrilled to announce that Rabbi Paula Jayne Winnig will begin as Executive Director of our organization starting September 7, 2017. After a brief but thorough search process, led by Joe Shumow and a small team of selected volunteers, Paula was unanimously endorsed by our Board of Directors as our candidate of choice for this important position. Paula returns to her Wisconsin roots, after serving as Senior Rabbi of Temple Sinai of Long Island, working as a Development Consultant in the New York area, and most recently as the Executive Director of the Bureau of Jewish Education in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has experience in creating, directing, and implementing a variety of educational, social, and service based programs. She is a skilled and experienced supervisor of many volunteer boards of trustees and professionals. She is a successful fundraiser, who is efficient, energetic, and dedicated multi-tasker. She has excellent communication skills and experience in managing all aspects of public relations. Rabbi Winnig received her Rabbinic Ordination and Doctor of Divinity from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. She also holds an MBA from SUNY- Empire State College.
As we look towards the future, we are confident in the vision and leadership that Paula brings with her to the position of Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Madison. We look forward to welcoming Paula to Madison very soon. She will attend the Major Gifts event on Sunday, September 10, and the Tzedakah Campaign Kick-Off on Sunday, September 17.
