Midrasha Welcomes New Interim Director

By Kimberly Rosenthal, Interim Midrasha Director

Shanah tova teens and families! Thank you for a warm welcome to the start of another year of Midrasha. I’m honored to be the new Midrasha Director and am looking forward to a year of growth through Hebrew language and Jewish Studies. What makes Midrasha amazing is the ruach (spirit) that students bring, which compliments the passions and expansive knowledge of our teachers. The incredible benefits of Midrasha are endless like students earning high school foreign language credit, being eligible for a $2,000 Jewish education award, and more!

This year we will be focusing on Jewish identity; our personal identity, the identity of Jewish teens, and the identity of the Jewish people. My Jewish identity and journey are far from linear, but the most impactful part was the time I spent in Israel teaching English to middle school students. During this time my love of the Jewish faith, people, and culture grew and I’m thrilled to bring that love and passion to students. To keep me grounded and energized in the work I do, I enjoy fitness, yoga, cooking, or being at home with my wife, brother, two cats, and lizard. My house and heart are full, but I’m always in search of a wonderful adventure like being your interim director of Midrasha.

With warmth and ruach,
Kimberly Rosenthal
