We are horrified and heartbroken by the attack on Shabbat at Chabad of Poway near San Diego. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and loved ones, as we stand in support with the Jewish communities of Poway and San Diego. The rising tide of anti-Semitism cannot go unchecked, and we will continue to work with community partners to speak out and dismantle hatred in all forms. We recommit ourselves to building a community that is welcoming, tolerant, safe for all, and the best reflection of our shared Jewish values.
With community security a top priority, we have and will continue to be in close contact with law enforcement and Secure Community Network (SCN), and we ask that all community members be vigilant. As we mark the end of Passover, we are reminded that we are stronger when we stand together and that we will not let hate win.
We encourage you to consider coming to one of the already scheduled upcoming community programs or services as a way to join together (see Monday Morning News for a few options, the community calendar, or synagogue directory).
