We are thrilled to announce that Shoshana Prager has been hired as the Director of Communications!
A note of introduction from Shoshana:
Hello! My name is Shoshana Prager, and I am so excited to be taking over as the new Director of Communications for the Jewish Federation of Madison! I grew up in Madison attending many of the programs that the Jewish Federation has to offer including Gan HaYeled Preschool, Camp Shalom, and Midrasha Hebrew High School. I attended camp Shalom and NOBO as a camper from Kindergarden-9th grade, and I enjoyed returning to NOBO as a counselor and planning and leading many art activities. These programs have played an integral role in forming my Jewish identity. In my free time I enjoy painting, rock climbing, photography, hiking, and cooking.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota and a minor in User Experience. During my time in Minnesota, I continued to be involved with Jewish life through Hillel, Chabad, and being the president and communications chair of the Jewish sorority SAEPi. I have had several internships and jobs which have allowed me to practice my design, communication, and photography skills including Monarch Healthcare Management in Minnesota, the University of Minnesota College of Design Print Lab, and Empire Photography in Madison. After graduation, I moved back to Madison to be with my friends and family. It feels full circle to be working in the same building where I attended Gan HaYeled preschool and back in the community that I love!
I am thankful to Anne Shlimovitz, former Director of Communications, for her 11 years of work in this role, making such wonderful connections in the community, and for training me in my new position. Her advice and perspective are invaluable. Also, I am grateful for Alan Klugman, Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Madison, for being so welcoming and supportive as I get started as Director of Communications. I feel truly fortunate to be in this position working with an organization that I grew up with while also getting to use my creative energy as a designer. I cannot wait to dive deeper into my role as Director of Communications and work with all the wonderful people involved with the Jewish Federation of Madison!
Please join us in welcoming Shoshana!
