Welcome Our New Outreach Director

We are thrilled to announce that Danielle Kurensky has been hired as the Outreach Director!

A note of introduction from Danielle:

Hello! I’m Danielle Kurensky, and I am the new Director of Outreach and PJ Library Coordinator for the Jewish Federation of Madison. I am extremely excited for this role as I have been involved with many Jewish organizations throughout my life. I grew up in the Northshore Chicago suburbs and was highly involved with my synagogue, Am Shalom, where I was an aide in a Sunday School classroom, as well as JCC Chicago ‘Z’ Frank Apachi Day camp, where I was a counselor for 6 and 7 year old girls. I moved to Madison for college, where I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a double major in Communication Arts and English. While at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I was involved with the Jewish sorority Sigma Delta Tau and was a Civic Engagement Intern with the Hillel Foundation on campus. Additionally, I worked multiple roles for the university, from being a research assistant to being a New Student Leader for Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR).

Upon my graduation this past spring, I decided to stay in Madison as I love this city and the community I have built here. After making this decision, I began searching for a job and am thrilled to have found an opportunity that relates my skillset and experience to my passion for connecting with others and with Judaism. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, visiting my family, and going to concerts.

I am thankful to Alan Klugman, the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Madison, for his support along this process and for the entire Federation team for being so welcoming during my early days. I am extremely excited to delve deeper into the Jewish community in Madison and to help others do the same. I feel very blessed to have this role and can’t wait to meet others in the Jewish community here in Madison!

Please join us in welcoming Danielle!
