We are delighted to announce our 2021 Annual Tzedakah Campaign co-chairs - Fred Gants and Sasha Kerlow.
Madison’s Jewish Federation has always been known for a level of service and activity that rivals much larger communities. In addition to the support we provide to our local beneficiary agencies and overseas partners, we also support our Jewish Federation of Madison (JFM) programs. JFM runs the only Jewish preschool (Gan HaYeled), only Hebrew High School program (Midrasha), and Dane County’s only Jewish summer day camp (Camp Shalom). The lifeblood for all these programs, of course, is the Annual Tzedakah Campaign.
This year, Fred Gants and Sasha Kerlow will co-chair and lead the 2021 Annual Tzedakah Campaign. Both are long-time members of our community with deep roots in the Jewish Federation of Madison. Recently retired from the law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP, Fred currently serves on the Federation’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. In that role, he also serves as chair of the Administration and Personnel Panel. Sasha is also a veteran of many Federation leadership positions, most recently as the Gan HaYeled Committee chair. She serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee as well.
"The Jewish Federation of Madison is poised to grow its support and engagement of the community with a full-time programming and camp director, two enthusiastic new shlichim (both working full time for the Federation), and a soon to be completed strategic plan built out of engaged conversations to help guide our way. Join the Federation in supporting more people in need, bringing more people together for the Jewish community and learning, and strengthening ties throughout the Jewish and non-Jewish Madison community. Make your donation today.
~ Sasha Kerlow, 2021 Tzedakah Campaign Co-Chair
"During the pandemic of our lives lasting over a year, we Jews of Madison have remained positive, proactive, and resilient. Our Federation continued Gan HaYeled, Camp Shalom, and Midrasha with precautions and without hiccups. Thanks to your support and assistance, our numbers in these programs increased dramatically in 2021. We need to keep growing. Please seriously consider increasing your donation for our upcoming Annual Tzedakah Campaign."
~ Fred Gants, 2021 Tzedakah Campaign Co-Chair
As the Federations nears completing its Strategic Plan, which will provide us with an organizational roadmap for the next 5-7 years, we have identified several areas requiring additional resources to flourish and grow. Some of these include:
- expanded social/educational programming for all age groups
- greater emphasis on outreach to the general Madison community through our Community Relations Committee (CRC)
- expanded development of Camp Shalom to accommodate the yearly waitlist of 80+ campers we cannot take in each summer.
Our number one goal for 2021 is to increase the number of annual campaign supporters. Will you help us reach our goal?
